KINDERGARTEN

We offer a full-day kindergarten program. Parents may also choose a half-day option if that better fits their family/child.

As adults, we all want to start off on the “right foot” when it comes to a new job situation, neighborhood or church. Ozaukee Christian provides the spiritual and academic foundation necessary for the coming elementary, middle and high school years.

Once you’ve visited class and met the teacher, you’ll see why so many parents make Ozaukee Christian their school of choice.

Kindergarten Round-Up

This event is planned with your family in mind. Be sure to bring your soon-to-be kindergarten student with you. Activities include visiting a kindergarten class in progress, looking through curricular materials and a Question and Answer Time with the teacher.

Evening or Saturday appointments are available as well.

What should my child know before beginning school?

Know name and telephone number
Dress independently, including outdoor clothing (buttons, zippers, boots)
Know how to tie shoes
Tend to toilet needs independently
Recognize belongings and his/her own printed name
Follow suggestions courteously
Follow 2 – 3 multi-step directions without reminders
Treat others with respect
Count to ten
Recognize various colors, shapes and the numerals 1 – 10
Recite (without singing) and recognize letters of the alphabet
Know some sounds associated with letters
Cut paper with children’s scissors without ripping
Draw and color beyond a simple scribble
Know how to use glue on projects
Assemble a six-piece puzzle
Print own name (use capital letter for initial letter only)
Answer simple questions about a story
Able to focus on one school-type task or activity for at least 15 minutes (watching a video or playing Nintendo doesn’t count!)
