SPIRITUAL GROWTH

HPIM0883

Student spiritual growth is our number one priority. We pledge to work hand-in-hand with parents in bringing up their children to know, love and serve Jesus. The development of Christ-like character is the focus of each interaction – on the playground, cafeteria, gymnasium and classroom.

Students participate in Bible class four days each week. We do not teach “religion,” but rather a relationship with Christ. Teachers use materials from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

Chapel is held each Wednesday morning. Teachers and area pastors share a message from God’s Word.

Students hide God’s Word in their hearts by memorizing a weekly verse or passage.

One cannot emphasize enough the importance of choosing a school where all staff members are born-again believers who teach from a Christian world-view. “When a student is fully trained, he will be like his teacher.” (Luke 6:40)

“Choosing OCS was not difficult for us, once we put the decision into the Lord's hands. He sent us directly to the door of OCS and we obediently followed - and live in complete confidence that OCS is exactly where He wants us to be. We have had to make choices (special vacations, new furniture) but the rewards we are already seeing far, far outweigh these minor sacrifices. Both of our children in the past year have learned about their particular spiritual gifts - and have been able to use them in God's name.

An OCS education is preparing our kids to be active, ready and participatory in changing our world for Christ right now - not waiting until they are "grown-ups." OCS has also challenged us, as parents, to put our money and our lives down for God's glory. We're committed to doing our best in raising our kids and part of that "best" is an OCS education - no matter what the cost, in our time, our money, or our talents.”
