Why Change our name
Founded in 1990 in Port Washington, WI, Ozaukee Christian School purchased its first property in 2019. The building had the bones that were needed for our first home with just one problem. It was located just over the county line in Washington County. At the time, our student body was comprised of families from both Washington and Ozaukee Counties. The location was ideal in all ways, except our name.

OCS has grown and become established in our new neighborhood increasing enrollment from 60 students to over 120 students. However, the name has continued to bring confusion. After six years at our current location, we still receive questions asking why Ozaukee Christian School has a West Bend address while it is in Washington County, next door to Ozaukee County.
In December of 2024, the school board officially launched the strategic initiative to not only rename, but also to rebrand the school as we launch into high school. A rebrand includes updates to the logos and taglines as well as the name.

What's not Changing
Changing the name is certainly an emotional endeavor. Over 35 years of praying, teaching, learning, volunteering, and financially supporting this ministry has created a connection with the name and even the initials, OCS.
Rebranding is not about changing our identity or culture, but it is about clearly and confidently communicating our Christ-centered foundation and our commitment to academic excellence. We reflected on our past, sought feedback from our community, and looked ahead to our vision for the future.

Our new name
Faith has always been the foundation of our school. Faith in God as our creator and faith in Christ as our Savior shapes every lesson taught in the classroom and every decision made by leadership.
Throughout their time at OCS, our students are challenged to walk a narrow path following Christ as they grow in wisdom and maturity. They learn what it means to live for Christ, grow in Christ-like character, and experience serving for Christ.

Sifting through dozens of names, FaithRidge Christian School, immediately drew our attention. It reflects our grounding in faith and our call to move forward with purpose. Faith signifies trust and confidence in God and His promises. The ridge represents a challenging but achievable path for our graduates.

Our New Look
In designing a new logo, we wanted to continue to reflect the school’s culture based on Ecclesiastes 4:12, which states “a cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” This represents the home, church, and school working together to form a strong faith foundation for a child’s life. Elements of three became a critical design criteria to ensure that we did not lose that piece of our founding. It is reflected in the three light blue colored lines surrounding the new logo. Our new name is depicted in the prominent cross symbolizing our faith in Christ and the ridge representing the narrow path to follow Christ.
Our tagline –Educate. Equip. Inspire. – concisely states our mission to educate students' minds, to equip students for life, and to inspire their hearts to love Christ. Students of FaithRidge Christian School will discover and develop their God-given talents and unique interests through their years of education. They will also be equipped to use their talents to glorify God by loving and serving others in His name in any vocation that they pursue.

For our athletic branding, we kept the lion mascot –a biblically rooted symbol of strength, courage, and leadership. We chose a three-quarter-facing design to convey confidence and boldness. It is forward-moving and fierce without being intimidating.
Our Future
Our new brand captured through our name, logos, and tagline will leave a legacy for generations of families to experience Christian education for their children. In the midst of change, one thing isn’t changing—our unwavering dedication to cultivating the next generation to impact the world for God’s glory!
